When having a large number of photos stored on your hard disk, you may come with a problem when wanting to organize and manage them. That's because most digital cameras generate non-intuitive names for the photos and it's very difficult to find a certain photo just by looking at its name. You may need to browse through your entire photo collection in order to find a certain one, which can take a lot of time. Fortunately, there are solutions to this problem. One of them is the PictureRetitle application.

This Windows program allows you to automatically rename your photos using various renaming rules, so that you will be able to organize them better. After the program is installed and launched, the user will be presented with a step by step wizard, in which he will need to configure the program's functionality. As such, one can select the renaming rules for the folder that contained the photos, by choosing from the three rules available.

After completing the configuration wizard, the user will be presented with a complex interface, in which he will see the thumbnails of all his selected photos. PictureRetitle allows renaming photos one by one, just by browsing through them, or automatically, by defining renaming rules. The user can also type a description for each photo. Besides custom text, each photo can also have the date and time it was taken in its name. In this way, the user will be able to find a desired photo faster than ever.

PictureRetitle is compatible with a large number of photo file formats, like BMP, JPEG, PNG and so on. After defining the renaming rules, the user will be able to preview the new names and if everything is in order, he will be able to save the new names with a single mouse click.
